My professional background is connected with Western Shipping Company Joint Stock. It is one of the biggest leading water-transport enterprises in the west of Russia, Kaliningrad. And I was engaged as a Translator-Interpreter on a full time basis at the Fleet and Main Activity Management Department there (1998 - 2000). The main activity of the company was execution of international cargo shipments. Its fleet called at more than 100 ports of 17 countries of the world. In accordance with my production commitments I had to deal with a wide language scope such as transport, legal including maritime law, insurance, managing, commercial agreements, business, accounting system, technical and many others. My duties included fulfilling translation and interpretation assignments within a given period of time providing the exact compliance of the translated works with the lexical, stylistic and meaning contents of the originals and keeping the set requirements in relation to the technical terms and definitions usage. Since September 2000 up to the present date I have been operating as a private Translator-Interpreter. Working independently I am involved into plenty of translation and interpretation projects from common to very specific domains among which are technical, scientific (cosmology, astrophysics, quantum physics), legal (including immigration), economical, consignment details documentation and business correspondence records. Besides my translation activity I also take part in conducting phone negotiations with foreign organisations, serving business meetings, interpreting during presentations and exhibitions, excursions in the local museums and factories.
